Father's Day is soon approaching on June 15th, are you prepared? Dad has gotten plenty of gifts over the years: neckties, homemade ceramic ashtrays, and maybe even a golfball or two. But now it's time to get Dad stuff that he really wants! Whether your dad is a sportsman, a businessman, a military man, or just a sentimenal guy, we've got gift ideas!
So have you given any thought about what to get your dear old dad on Father's Day? Here are just a few ways you can help your father celebrate his special day!
1. Personalized gifts are always well-received. If you want to give your dad a personalized gift for Father's Day, it will most likely be a keepsake that he'll treasure forever! Engraved and personalized to his own liking, Dad will be sure to respond to it! We found a website that provides this service. It's called Name Your Things and it's got everything from monogrammed golf balls to engraved stop watches to wallets, frames, custom sports memorabilia, and more! Dad will surely make you his new favorite!
2. If you find yourself broke, do a favor for Dad. Celebrating Father's Day or any special occasion isn't about how much money you spend on someone. It really is about the thought behind it. If you're a poor college student with limited funds, do a favor for Dad! Mow the lawn, paint the shed, wash the car. Anything that your father would normally do, take that chore off his hands and do it for him! He will appreciate you! (but don't forget to at least get him a card!)
3. If your father is the type of guy that has everything, spend some time with him. All parents who love their children just want some time with them! So if your dad doesn't need that new pair of underwear that you were going to buy him for Father's Day, take him out to a movie, go fishing, play miniature golf, or even just sit and chat! Your father will be so glad to see you taking the time out of your life to dedicate to him. It will mean a lot!

A special Father's Day Gift Idea - Photo Mug
Here's a great Father's Day gift idea that lets Dad carry photos of the kids with him throughout the whole year. Put your photos on a mug and Dad can see it every day! Here's how to make one...
Supply List
========
Photos
Photo transfer paper or mug
This is an easy present to make for Father's Day, but a very special one! Start by choosing pictures for your photo mug. You should be able to use at least two different ones (one on each side). If your photos are smallish, you maybe able to use quite a few. I like to find a photo of the kids each doing something special with Dad that they both will recognize and remember.
If you're planning to do the transfer yourself, measure the space available to work with on your mug. If you'd rather have it professionally done, call the photo-shop and ask what area size is available.
You'll probably want to cut your photos, to remove excess background. Make sure that you only use pictures that it's okay to cut! Cut out the faces, and any specific items from the photos that you want to include and arrange them so that they will fit in the space on the mug. Don't forget that you'll need to work around the handle! I've done oldest to youngest time lines of all the kids, and I've done serious-face on one side, silly-face on the other side mugs. Once we even did a picture upside-down on purpose, to see if Dad would tip it over to see the picture right, and in doing so, pour out his drink!
If you have a scanner, and can print to transfer paper, lay out the photos and scan them. Then crop it to the correct size for your mug, and add any embellishments you like with your favorite photo editing program. Then just print it on your transfer paper, trim it to size, and impress it on the mug according to the instructions for the brand your using.
If you don't have this equipment at home, that's okay. Just cut out a rectangle the correct size to wrap around your mug, and use it to lay out your photos. Tape them in place, making sure that the tape does not show. Then you can draw or write around your photos, or print out words or artwork and cut them out to tape down the same way you did the photos.
Take your rectangle to a local photo-mart, or a chain store (such as Walmart) that has a photo area. You may need to leave your photo-layout rectangle with them for a few days. (Some offer same-day service, by they tend to get backed up around a holiday.) Be sure to drop yours off in time to have it back in time to wrap it up for Dad.
The Father's Day Photo Mug project is a fun craft that gives you a chance to go through the pictures and reminisce, and then leaves Dad with a keepsake that he can carry with him and use every day.

Inexpensive Father's Day Gifts
Our fathers are men we look up to, the men who have taken the responsibility of protecting us and mentoring us. Many fathers are pillars of strength. Fathers are often kind, supportive, and benevolent. They make their children feel loved and cared for. This Father's Day show your father your appreciation by giving him a gift.
As much as we would all love to spoil our fathers with lavish gifts, many of us cannot afford to do so. This article will provide suggestions for inexpensive gifts for fathers. Your father will not be upset that you did not spend a fortune on him; he will be thrilled that you put time and effort into purchasing him a gift for Father's Day.
Food: I have met few men who didn't appreciate a good home-cooked meal. Invite your father over for a home-cooked dinner on Father's Day. Alternatively, visit your father at his home and bring him his favorite dessert. Whether your father loves fudge, apple pie, angel food cake, or lemon bars, he is sure to feel appreciated when you present him with his favorite treat.
Clothes: Your father may like a "World's Greatest Dad" T-shirt to wear when he can dress casually. If your father likes dressing up, you could purchase him a nice shirt from JCPenny, Sears, or other similar department store. Pick out a shirt in his favorite color and/or pattern. Or perhaps your dad has been talking about buying himself a new pair of jeans or slacks, but hasn't had a chance to do so. Save him the trouble and present him with a pair on Father's Day.

Movie: If your father enjoys watching movies, give him a DVD or VHS of a movie you think he'll enjoy for Father's Day. Alternatively, if you know your dad loves a particular movie he does not own, purchase a copy of the movie for his collection.
Books or magazines: Does your father enjoy leisurely reading? Does he have a favorite author? A book by his favorite author would make an excellent Father's Day gift. If your father doesn't have a favorite author, you could purchase a book from his favorite genre of literature (fiction, science fiction, fantasy, etc.).
If your father reads magazines, get him a subscription to a magazine he reads regularly.
Hobbies: Many men enjoy working with their hands. My father, for instance, enjoys building. A perfect gift for him would be a measuring tape or screwdriver set.
What does your father enjoy doing? Does he enjoy building things? Does he enjoy putting together puzzles or building model cars? Get your father something related to his hobby for Father's Day, whether that may be a model car, tools, puzzles, or fishing gear. Then, offer to spend some time with your father so that you can enjoy his hobby with him. Your father will love this gesture.
Whatever you decide to do for your father this Father's Day, let him know that you appreciate him. Honor your father by letting him know that you care about his likes and interests. Your father will truly appreciate the time and effort you put in to a custom gift.
